International Conference of Jurists

Anis Rahman OBE was invited to speak at the International Conference of Jurists organised by the International Council of Jurists. The conference entitled ‘International Conference of Jurists for Judicial Reforms’ was held on 20-22 June in London.

The conference (academically supported by the Bar Council of England and Wales) was inaugurated by Rt. Hon. Lord Phillips, President of Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.

Chief Justices, Law Ministers, Judges of the highest Courts from over 20 countries, Members of Parliament, corporate advocates, Bar leaders, chartered accountants, social activists, diplomats and media persons attended the conference.

Anis Rahman OBE delivered a speech on the doctrine of Separation of Powers with reference to the Judicial Independence and the position of the Lord Chancellor and the Role of Bangladesh in relation to the separation of powers and good governance.
